Installation deadline falls
Separate documents have been posted by Shtokman Development AG for the tender for installation of subsea templates and structures with the deadline for requesting pre-qualification documents falling today and the submission deadline falls on 19 June.
This tender covers ftransport to the field location and offshore installation of foundations and six drilling templates – each weighing around 300 tons - and six protection structures.
Included in this workscope is installation of three infield riser bases, and a trunkline riser base, plus installation of a floating platform unit (FPU), and 20 suction piles.
Additionally, the contract requires installation of two pipeline end manifolds, “...localised at the field extremities of the two trunklines installed between the Shtokman Field and shore,” the documents specify. And there options for installation of pre-set mooring systems for field drilling rigs.
Work is being broken down into distinct phases involving engineering for interfaces between equipment, transportation and installation, plus procurement of rigging and installation aids, then transportation, and the actual offshore installation.
Requests for pre-qualification documents had to be with Shtokman Development AG in Moscow by 10am today local time, and the deadline for the delivery of a pre-qualification dossier from a bidding company is due by 19 June.
Phase one development of Shtokman will seek to tap reserves of 23.7 Bcm of gas, with first gas production due in 2013 and LNG production due a year later.
Gas is due to be exported south across the Baltic Sea through the Nord Stream pipeline system to Russia and to Europe.
Most of the major offshore subsea construction companies could be competing for the prestigious deal, from Norway's Aker Solutions through to Acergy, Subsea 7 and Technip, as well as perhaps Heerema and Saipem, since the further phases of the project could conceivably be awarded to the same successful contractor.
